Honeycomb Pattern for the Beach

We just renovated a condominium in South Florida and I was trying to keep with a tropical theme.  I needed to add more green to enhance the palm tree prints on my pillows but I could not find a throw that would go with them.  Now that I am crocheting I can just make one to match and with all the different colors of yarn available, it was easy.  I found this honeycomb pattern which I used since it looked like a lightweight blanket.  I love how it turned out!

Looks great with this backdrop!

Perfect and cozy!

Round Baby Blanket

My daughter has been influencing me with items she would like me to make.  One of the links she showed me was a round blanket.  I love the idea of a round blanket and searched until I found the one that appealed to me most.  Here's the result of my round baby blanket. Check out the pattern here.

I love all the bobble and shell stitches.  I made this twice already and found that different needles make all the difference.  Here I used a G needle and size 4 yarn. I used 100% acrylic since this will be used for a baby and will need many (careful) washings.

New Twists

I guess you noticed that I haven't posted in quite a while.  Due to changes in my life, I am no longer creating wreaths.  Now that my life has taken a different direction (I recently became a grandmother to a beautiful little girl), I have rediscovered my love of crocheting.  What once was granny squares and simple stitches is now a whole new world of stitching and creating due to social media.  Bear with me as I discover a new way to be creative and create new twists!

My first creation was for a friend's first grandson.  I love this basketweave stitch.  It's a fun and quick way to create a small baby blanket.  Check out this basketweave stitch here

Red and Green Tree Crown

Here are some inside pictures of one of my Tree Crowns. Love the way it fills out the top of the tree!

The ribbon looks a little pink but is really red, a little overexposed.

New, and only from Created Twists...Burlap Tree Crowns for Christmas!

So far I haven't seen anyone with one of these, so mark the date as my introduction of the
Burlap Christmas Tree Crown!

I sold a few of these at last week's craft show and the interest was very good, so I'm officially offering it to the public.

A great way to add a ribbon to the top of your tree and interest all around the tree.  It can be decorated with holly sprigs, tree sprigs, acorns, pine cones...or with nothing but burlap ribbon and a bow.  No more needing to create a new bow for the top of your tree, just place the tree crown on the top of your tree!

This is not just a wreath placed on top of the tree.  I have woven the burlap around a smaller frame so that the bulk of the burlap loops are on the outside of the frame.

See how much fuller the side view is for the tree crown on the right.

They are not made to be viewed as a wreath, but from below looking up into the tree.

These are pictures of two of my tree crowns, look for more to come! I love them and hope you will too!  Contact me at createdtwists@aol.com for more information.

Burlap Christmas Wreaths with Magnolia Leaves and Berries

This one has a red ribbon offsetting the striped central ribbon.

This burlap wreath uses gold bay leaves to bring out the gold in the striped ribbon.
